Heat Tape

We decided to put Powerblanket (Heat Tape Blankets) to the test against the best standard heat tape products on the market to see if they could outperform this age old method of heating and thawing frozen pipes.  What we noticed first, was the Powerblanket was no ordinary electric blanket.  Instead, Powerblanket has developed a unique heat  spreading technology wrapped in an insulated blanket that does a remarkable job at both freeze prevention and pipe thawing (depending on what the application calls for).

Powerblanket was up to 10x more effective at thawing a 6″ frozen water pipe in outdoor weather conditions near zero degrees F than the leading heat tape product.  This was mainly due to the heat spreading technology of the Powerblanket which heated the entire surface of the pipe, enhanced by the insulated blanket.   Hands down the best method for heating and thawing that we have seen to date.
